!!!! PLAYGROUND UPDATE !!!!

Plans for new playground here:

So you can see all the wonderful things we are planning, here are some detailed maps to make it all a bit clearer (click on map to get a larger view in a new window).

As some of you will have seen already, we tried to move away from metal and multicoloured plastic and opted for more "natural" play where wood, stones and planting will be incorporated into the new playground. This is the result of 2 years intensive consulting of local children and park users and many many hours hard work trying to secure funds to make your and our dreams come true! We really really hope you will all enjoy it as much as we do!

Plans of the original "old" playgound:

Plans of the completely finished "new" playground... (hopefully..... one day)

Phase 1 of building, THIS is the playground as we will opened it summer 2011

.... and this is the playground as we would wish to have it by not too long. Keep your fingers crossed that we are successful with our bids!

Edible community garden

There are lots of mouth-watering things planned like elderflower cordial and jam-making events, summer herbal tea parties and more.

Perhaps not as savoury, but very useful, the garden will also be a hub for growing knowledge: teaching locals how to make compost, how to dig without doin’ ya…

Thanks to our lovely volunteers...

We won an award! We didn't even know we'd entered for it!

We joined RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood last winter. They assess the groups each year to see how they are progressing and offer advice. We thought we'd just received a report. But they have sent us a lovely framed certificate of achievement for our 'improving' status. This will be in the noticeboard in the park soon.

Thanks…
